I Punti nazionali di contatto offrono a tutti i cittadini interessati le informazione per comprendere il complesso sistema di disposizioni, norme e principi comunitari e nazionali che regolano la libera circolazione dei professionisti nell’Unione Europea.
Forniscono ai cittadini e ai punti di contatto degli altri Stati membri ogni informazione utile al riconoscimento delle qualifiche professionali previste dalla Direttiva 2005/36/CE. Informano sulla legislazione nazionale che disciplina le professioni e il loro esercizio, compresa la legislazione sociale, nonché, se necessario, le norme deontologiche. e assistono i cittadini nell'ottenimento dei diritti conferiti dalla direttiva cooperando eventualmente con altri punti di contatto e le competenti autorità dello Stato membro ospitante.
